As I mentioned last week I promised to provide you a further review of my Mirama's.. so here it is.. (feel free to share with GA and use on your own website if you think it’s appropriate).

I've now had the pleasure (or perhaps honour) of owning my gorgeous VOTU Mirama loudspeakers for  a little over 12 months, and wanted to provide an insight into my journey so far.

It's a pretty simple story, really.

From the get go they were magnificent, positioned in a similar placement to the speakers they replaced. Even with such mighty bass performance they have been remarkably easy to dial in, and after only 3 months of being on castors, enabling easy room positioning, the ideal spot was found and their supplied feet fitted. They're now in their final resting place.

I reckon the running in period was also around 3 months, or a tad more. They've been unfussy and easy to live with, and are an open window on any changes, however minor, in the upstream equipment.

They are, however, fussy on power amplifiers. They need current - lots of it!  Modestly powered amplifiers need not apply. Massive current capability and high damping factor are absolutely necessary (in fact, doubling up the speaker cables on the bass drivers yielded a remarkable improvement in every respect).

Now, set up as they are, they're beautiful! I've often written notes after several late night listening sessions.. here's some of the words I have used: magical, spine-tingling, scary, chilling, warm, inviting, effortless, beautiful, intimate, majestic, colourful (as in harmonically rich), lush, clean, clear, open, tear-jerking.

They produce beautiful music on a grand scale, and I'm oh so easily drawn into each artists performance.  And, importantly, as I play a record I'm taken on an emotional journey, just how each artist intended.

As I said at the beginning, it's pretty simple. Notice that I have not used any of the usual hifi hype. It doesn't apply here. These loudspeakers transcend the listener way beyond critiquing the midrange performance or treble extension, into the realm of absolute musical engagement. Emotional engagement. I laugh, I cry, I play air guitar, I sing!

Oh, there is one drawback, however, for those that enjoy physical media like myself.  In 12 months of ownership, I have bought over one hundred vinyl albums! (mostly new double LPs) - driven to it by a longing to hear the artists perform their music right here in my listening room! And my spending spree isn't going to stop anytime soon!

Thank you so much Graham Audio, you have enhanced my life unimaginably!
